Imaginarium of Nevada County has Closed
For the past ten years the Imaginarium had offered a great multitude and variety of hands-on educational programs to the children of Nevada County and the community at-large. It was with great pride that the Superintendent of Schools had supported this wonderful venue to further children’s interest in every discipline of science.
The Imaginarium of Nevada County was housed in a California Armory which is owned by the military. The lease was contracted through the California Department of General Services (DGS). As a combination of the normal lease renewal process and new leadership at the DGS, it had been determined that the armory did not meet current earthquake requirements. In this light the Imaginarium faced closure.
The Imaginarium had always celebrated the success of its programs with strong community support, and we sincerely thank you for these past years of support.
